Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 241617  Size: SH
  1. Remove the retainer clip.
  2. Remove the brake hose from the chassis brake pipe.
  3. Remove the brake pipes. Refer to Brake Pipe Replacement .
  4. Plug the chassis brake pipes.

  5. Object Number: 208913  Size: SH
  6. Remove the mounting bolt on top of the rear axle.
  7. Remove the rear brake hose.

  8. Object Number: 328548  Size: SH
  9. Remove the rear brake hose fitting bolt and washers to the brake caliper and remove the hose (2).

  10. Object Number: 241615  Size: SH
  11. Remove the brake pipe from the fitting on the other end of the brake hose.
  12. Remove the retainer clip to detach the hose from the axle bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 328548  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the rear brake hose (2) to the brake caliper.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt and washers to 44 N·m (33 lb ft).

  3. Install the retainer clip to attach the other end of the hose to the axle bracket.
  4. Install the brake pipe.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the hose mounting bolt to the rear axle.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  8. Install the brake pipes.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  10. Install the brake hose through the frame bracket.
  11. Install the fitting to the brake hose.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the brake hose fitting to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  13. Install the retainer.
  14. Bleed the brakes. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
