A hissing sound is heard when the steering wheel is turned and the vehicle is not moving. The hissing sound is most evident when turning the wheel when the brakes are applied.

No action is required. There is some noise in all power steering systems and the hissing noise is common. There is no relationship between this noise and the steering, and steering performance.
