The maximum speed of the P12 hydraulic power steering pump is 4900 RPM. The pump has a relief valve which remains closed against a minimum 1350 psi not to exceed 1450 psi at 1500 RPM.

The minimum output of the power steering fluid is measured at 170°F (76.6°C) when operating the pump at an idling speed of 590 RPM against a pressure of 5.19/4.58 MPa (735/665 psi). The maximum output is measured at the same temperature when operating the pump at 1500 RPM against 0.35 MPa (50 psi). Refer to Power Steering Pump Specifications .
