The steering column is a tilt column. The left hand lock lever releases the column for tilt adjustment.

Important: If any component of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly fails, the complete assembly must be replaced.

A combination switch is present on the steering column. The combination switch, on the steering column, controls the following components:

    • The turn signals
    • The windshield washers
    • The windshield wipers
    • Headlamp brightness
    • Cruise control

The engine control switch is mounted on the column.

The steering column is connected to the steering gear by slip-type intermediate and lower shafts with cardan universal joints. Fittings for the slip-type shaft with the cardan universal joints provide lubrication.
