Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 305635  Size: SH
  1. Remove the nylon straps retaining the wheel speed sensor wire to the brake hose. In some repair operations, wheel speed sensor removal is required. Refer to Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement .
  2. Remove the hose bracket bolts and the washers.
  3. Important: Clean the dirt, the grease and the foreign particles from the hose fittings at both ends before removing the front brake hose.

  4. Remove the hose fitting from the caliper.
  5. Disconnect the steel pipe(s) from the hose junction block.
  6. Bend the steel pipe(s) in a backward position in order to clear the junction block. Cap the steel pipes.

  8. Remove the nut(s) and the front brake hose(s) after disconnecting the brake pipe.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 241614  Size: SH
  1. Ensure that the plugged side of the junction block faces the rear of the vehicle in order to install the hose into the frame hole.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the brake hose nut(s).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the front brake hose nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the brake pipe(s).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the pipe fitting(s) to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Ensure that the hose is not twisted in order to properly install the hose fitting to the caliper.
  8. Install the hose bracket washer(s) and the bolt(s).
  9. Tighten

        • Tighten the hose fitting to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).
        • Tighten the mounting bolts to 30 N·m (23 lb ft).
  10. Install the nylon straps retaining the wheel speed sensor wire to the brake hose. In some repair operations, wheel speed sensor installation is required. Refer to Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement .
  11. Bleed the brakes. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
