Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle for Chevrolet Chevy P12 Chassis 1999

Tools Required

J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor

1. Remove the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .



2. Remove the bearing retainer (3) using J 23653-SIR .
3. Discard the bearing retainer (3).
4. Remove J 23653-SIR from the shaft lock shield assembly.
5. Remove the shaft lock shield assembly (2).
6. Remove the turn signal cancel cam assembly (1).
7. Remove the upper bearing spring (6).
8. Remove the upper bearing inner race seat (5).
9. Remove the inner race (4).
