Removal Procedure
- Position a socket and breaker bar on the
hex in the center of the tensioner pulley.
- Pry in order to relieve the tension on the drive belt.
- Slip the belt off the nearest pulley.
- Release the belt tensioner.
- Remove the belt from the rest of the pulleys.
Installation Procedure
- Loop the new belt loosely around all of
the pulleys except the tensioner.
- Position a socket and breaker bar on the hex in the center of
the tensioner pulley.
- Pry the tensioner pulley as far as it will go.
NOTICE: Do not force the belt onto a pulley by prying with a screwdriver, a
crowbar, or any other wedge-type tool. prying a belt into position can damage
both the belt and the pulley. If the tensioner is completely out
of the way and the belt will not fit, it is too small and a larger belt is
needed.
- Slip the belt over the tensioner pulley by hand.
- Release the belt tensioner. Remove the breaker bar and socket.
