Remote Reservoir P72

Removal Procedure

Important: Avoid contaminating the power steering system. Cap open lines and ports to prevent dirt and debris from entering the system. Contaminated power steering fluid can cause early parts failure.

  1. Drain the reservoir.

  2. Object Number: 24345 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the reservoir.
  4. Cap the hoses to keep dirt out of the system.
  5. Tag the hose locations.
  6. Remove the bracket bolts and washers.
  7. Remove the reservoir from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 24345 Size: SH
  1. Install the reservoir to the vehicle.
  2. Install the bracket bolts and washers.
  3. Tighten
Tighten the bracket bolts to 28 N·m (21 lb ft)

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Connect the hydraulic hoses to the reservoir.
  5. Fill the reservoir.
  6. Bleed the system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System.
