THE NATIONAL TRAFFIC AND MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY ACT, AS AMENDED, PROVIDE THAT EACH VEHICLE WHICH IS SUBJECT TO A RECALL CAMPAIGN OF THIS TYPE M BE ADEQUATELY REPAIRED WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME AFTER THE OWNER HAS TENDERED IT FOR REPAIR. A FAILURE TO REPAIR WITHIN SIXTY (60) DAYS AF TENDER OF A VEHICLE IS PRIMA FACIE EVIDENCE OF FAILURE TO REPAIR WITHI REASONABLE TIME.
IF THE CONDITION IS NOT ADEQUATELY REPAIRED WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME, OWNER MAY BE ENTITLED TO AN IDENTICAL OR REASONABLY EQUIVALENT VEHICLE NO CHARGE OR TO A REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE LESS A REASONABLE ALLOW FOR DEPRECIATION.
TO AVOID HAVING TO PROVIDE THESE BURDENSOME SOLUTIONS, EVERY EFFORT MU MADE TO PROMPTLY SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH EACH OWNER AND TO REPAIR THEIR VEHICLE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THIS PARKING B WILL BE APPLIED AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT LE IS PLACED IN THE "PARK" POSITION, OR IT CAN BE APPLIED MANUALLY USING FOOT OPERATED PEDAL. WITH THE LOOSE PIVOT BOLT, IT MAY BE POSSIBLE FO PARKING BRAKE TO SUDDENLY RELEASE IF IT IS MANUALLY APPLIED. IF THE B SHOULD "FALL OUT" AND THE PARK BRAKE IS AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED,

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE AMOUNT OF BRAKE APPLY MAY BE INSUFFICIENT TO H THE VEHICLE ON AN INCLINE ONCE THE OPERATOR HAS EXITED THE VEHICLE. E OF THESE CONDITIONS MAY ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO ROLL AWAY AND RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
TO PREVENT THIS CONDITION FROM OCCURRING, DEALERS WILL TORQUE THE PIVO BOLT TO SPECIFICATIONS.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. BLOCK WHEELS.
2. START ENGINE AND LET IDLE FOR TEN SECONDS WITH TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL AND PARK BRAKE OFF. TURN OFF ENGINE AND LEAVE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL WITH BRAKE OFF.
3. USING A TORQUE WRENCH, TORQUE PIVOT BOLT (SEE FIGURE BELOW) TO 33 N.M (20-24 LBS. FT.).
4. SET VEHICLE IN PARK AND REMOVE WHEEL BLOCKS.
5. INSTALL "CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATIONS LABEL."
CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL
EACH VEHICLE CORRECTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS OUTLINED IN PRODUCT CAMPAIGN BULLETIN WILL REQUIRE A "CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABE EACH LABEL PROVIDES A SPACE TO INCLUDE THE FIVE (5) DIGIT DEALER CODE THE DEALER PERFORMING THE CAMPAIGN SERVICE. THIS INFORMATION MAY BE INSERTED WITH A TYPEWRITER OR A BALL POINT PEN.
EACH "CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL" IS TO BE LOCATED ON THE RADIATOR SUPPORT IN AN AREA WHICH WILL BE VISIBLE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BROUGHT I PERIODIC SERVICING BY THE OWNER.
APPLY "CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL" ONLY ON A CLEAN, DRY SURFACE.
