Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 294029  Size: SH
  1. Evacuate the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling, Adding Oil, Evacuating and Recharging Procedures, HVAC with A/C Manual, in the 1999 C/K Service Manual.
  2. Important: Cap or plug all of the open connections in order to prevent contamination.

  3. Disconnect the compressor and condenser hose at the condenser.

  4. Object Number: 294027  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the compressor and condenser hose from the accumulator.
  6. Remove the bolt from the top of the compressor.
  7. Remove the following hose assemblies from the vehicle:
  8. • The compressor
    • The condenser
  9. Remove the O-ring seals from the ends of the hoses.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 294027  Size: SH
  1. Install new O-ring seals into the ends of the hoses.
  2. Coat the O-ring seals with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
  3. Install the compressor and condenser hose assembly to the vehicle.
  4. Install the bolt to the top of the compressor.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  6. Connect the compressor and condenser hose to the accumulator.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  8. Connect the following hose assemblies to the condenser:
  9. • The compressor
    • The condenser

    Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 27.5 N·m (21 lb ft).

  10. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling, Adding Oil, Evacuating and Recharging Procedures in HVAC Systems With A/C Manual, 1999 C/K Service Manual.
  11. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing in HVAC Systems With A/C Manual, 1999 C/K Service Manual.
