Some 1991-92 C3 and K3 trucks with dual rear wheels may experience a noise from the rear auxiliary leaf springs. This noise is more noticeable on rough roads when the truck is unloaded. The noise is caused by contact between the auxiliary leaf spring and the auxiliary spring stop.
This condition can be corrected by installing an insulator on each end of the auxiliary leaf spring. It may be necessary to raise the vehicle by the frame to install the inserts. A strip of nylon is attached to one side of the insert. When installed, the nylon should face up toward the the spring stop.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
