COLD START STALL (INSTALL NEW PROM)

SUBJECT: COLD START STALL (INSTALL NEW PROM)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1992 "C/K" TRUCKS AND "G" VANS WITH .5.0L ENGINE (VIN H - RPO L03)

CONDITION:

--------- Some owners of 1992 model year "C/K" trucks and "G" vans with 5.0 Litre V8 engines (VIN H) may comment of engine cold start stall. The potential stall generally occurs when the throttle is slightly opened.

CAUSE:

----- Initial cold start stalling was due to lean fueling during cold start operation.

CORRECTION:

---------- If normal diagnostics and service procedures do not correct the above condition, a revised calibration PROM should be installed (See below).
