Removal Procedure

Notice: The secondary air injection (AIR) pump is a positive displacement vane type which is permanently lubricated. The AIR pump requires no periodic maintenance.

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  2. Disconnect the AIR pump electrical connector

  3. Object Number: 18354  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the AIR air cleaner hose to pump.

  5. Object Number: 18350  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the AIR output hose at the AIR pump.

  7. Object Number: 18342  Size: SH
  8. Remove the bolts holding the pump to the mounting brackets.

  9. Object Number: 18343  Size: SH
  10. Remove the pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 18343  Size: SH
  1. Install the AIR pump.

  2. Object Number: 18342  Size: SH
  3. Install the AIR pump mounting bolts
  4. Connect the electrical connector

  5. Object Number: 18350  Size: SH
  6. Connect the AIR pump output hose to the AIR pump.

  7. Object Number: 18354  Size: SH
  8. Connect the AIR air cleaner hose to the AIR pump.
  9. Install the pump drive belt. Refer to Engine Cooling.
