Rear Side Door Window Replacement Tahoe/Yukon
Removal Procedure
- Raise the window partially
up.
- Remove the manual door lock lever.
- Remove the manual window handle, if equipped. Refer to
Door Window Regulator Handle Replacement
.
- Remove the power accessory switch panel. Refer to
Power Accessory Switch Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to
Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the water deflector. Refer to
Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Remove the window run channel bolt.
Important: Do not Remove the bolt.
- Loosen the retaining bolts (3) from the window glass assembly .
- Remove the window glass (1) from the door by sliding the window
glass out through the top.
Installation Procedure
- Install the window glass
(1) to the door by sliding the window glass down through the top.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Tighten the retaining
bolts to the window glass assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 12 N·m (9 lb ft).
- Install the window run channel bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the water deflector. Refer to

.
- Install the door trim panel. refer to
Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Install the power accessory switch panel. Refer to
Power Accessory Switch Panel Replacement
.
- Install the manual window handle if equipped. Refer to
Door Window Regulator Handle Replacement
.
- Install the manual door lock lever.
- Inspect the operation of the window.

Removal Procedure

- Loosen the retaining bolts (1) from the window glass assembly.
- Remove the window glass (2) from the door by sliding the window
glass out through the top.

- Install the window glass
(2) to the door by sliding the window glass down through the top.
