Heated Seats System Components

The heated seats system for the driver and passenger seat consists of the following components:

    • Heated Seat Switch
    • Heated Seat Element (seat cushion)
    • Heated Seat Element (seat back)

Heated Seats System Operation

Both the driver and passenger seats have 2 heating elements. One is in the seat cushion and the other is in the seat back. The heated seats are capable of obtaining temperatures of 98°F in LOW mode and 107°F in HIGH mode. Battery Positive Voltage and ground is supplied separately to the Heated Seat Switch and Heated Seat Element.

When the Heated Seat Switch is activated, a signal is sent to the Heated Seat Element through the Heated Seat Switch signal circuit. The logic portion of the Heated Seat Element then energizes a relay (internal to the Element) that then closes thus supplying battery positive voltage to the Heated Seat Elements. The system is then monitored by a thermistor which sends a signal to the logic portion of the Heated Seat Element so that the desired temperature can be achieved and maintained.
