Important: Do not reuse the U-bolts.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
• | Tighten the U-bolt nuts to 80 N·m (59 lb ft) (14 mm /0.55 in bolts). |
• | Tighten the U-bolt nuts to 120 N·m (89 lb ft) (16 mm /0.63 in bolts). |
• | Tighten the front hanger bracket nut to 190 N·m (140 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the shackle to the frame nut to 95 N·m (70 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the shackle to the spring nut to 95 N·m (70 lb ft). |
