Did you perform the Power Sunroof Diagnostic System Check?

Perform the sunroof re-initialization. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Synchronization .

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the sunroof switch harness connector.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the retained accessory power (RAP) relay switched output circuit at the sunroof switch harness connector and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

  1. Connect a fused jumper wire to the RAP relay switched output circuit at the sunroof switch harness connector.
  2. Observing the position of the sunroof glass, try to operate the sunroof system by connecting the other end of the fused jumper wire, at the sunroof switch harness connector, to either of the following:
  3. • The sunroof switch open/tilt down signal circuit
    • The sunroof switch close/tilt upn signal circuit

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Step 11

Test the sunroof switch open/tilt down signal circuit for an open, or a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 17

Test the sunroof switch close/tilt upn signal circuit for an open, or a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Connect the sunroof switch harness connector.
  2. Disconnect the sunroof module harness connector.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the RAP relay switched output circuit at the sunroof module harness connector and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit at the sunroof module harness connector and a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit and ground circuit at the sunroof module harness connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 12

Test the RAP relay switched output circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 17

Inspect for a poor connections at the sunroof switch harness connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems?

Inspect for a poor connection at the sunroof module harness connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the battery positive voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Repair the open in the sunroof module ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the sunroof switch. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement .

Replace the sunroof module. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Replacement .

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Remove any jumper wires.
  3. Reconnect all previously disconnected components.
  4. Replace the fuse if necessary.
  5. Re-initialize the sunroof. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Synchronization .
  6. Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
