Transmission Control Replacement for Chevrolet Chevy Suburban - 2WD 2008
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.
- Remove the steering column. Refer to
Steering Column Replacement.
- Remove the shift lever. Refer to
Shift Lever Replacement.
Important: The ignition lock cylinder set should be in the OFF-LOCK position.
- Disconnect the automatic transmission park lock cable (1).
Notice: Do not use excessive force when removing the automatic transmission
shift lock control from the steering column. Using excessive force may cause
damage to the automatic transmission shift lock control and/or the steering
column.
- Disconnect the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator (1) from the automatic transmission control.
- Remove the automatic transmission control bolts (1).
- Remove the automatic transmission control (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the automatic transmission control (2).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Important: Move the automatic transmission control as needed to install all the automatic transmission control bolts.
- Install the automatic transmission control bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect the automatic transmission shift lock control actuator (1) to the automatic transmission control.
- Connect the automatic transmission park lock cable (1).
| 4.1. | Place the ignition lock cylinder into the OFF position. |
| 4.2. | Place the automatic transmission control into the PARK position. |
| 4.3. | Press the locking tab on the end of the automatic transmission park lock cable into the slot in the ignition lock cylinder case. |
- Install the shift lever. Refer to
Shift Lever Replacement.
- Install the steering column. Refer to
Steering Column Replacement.
