SOME 1983 THM 700-R4 TRANSMISSIONS WITH 6.2L DIESEL ENGINE EQUIPPED VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT A SOFT 1-2 UPSHIFT FEEL. IF A "FIRMED UP" 1-2 SHIFT IS DESIRED, IT CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED BY THE FOLLOWING: REMOVE AND DISCARD EXISTING 1-2 ACCUMULATOR SPRING. INSTALL REPLACEMENT 1-2 ACCUMULATOR SPRING, PART NUMBER 8634163. THIS APPLIES TO ANY 3VJ, 3TB, 3MH OR 3TP MODEL TRANSMISSION BUILT PRIOR TO BREAKPOINT SERIAL NUMBER 314D. REFER TO PROPER SERVICE MANUAL SECTION.
