SUBJECT: LOSS OF THIRD DIRECT CLUTCH DISTRESS AND /OR SLIP IN REVERSE (New Dished Plate)

CONDITION:

---------- Some 1992 HYDRA-MATIC 4L80-E/4L80-EHD transmissions may experience Loss of Third, Direct Clutch Distress and/or Slip in Reverse.

CAUSE:

------ This can be caused by the Direct Clutch Dished Plate damage or cracking.

CORRECTION:

----------- A new Direct Clutch Dished Plate (609) was released with a new material that increases the durability.

DATE OF PRODUCTION: (Figure 1) ------------------- Starting October 1, 1991 (Julian Date 274) all 1992 HYDRA-MATIC 4L80-E/4L80-EHD models were built with the new Direct Clutch Dished Plate.
