Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 1996 🢒 Chevy Suburban - 4WD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 7.4L 🢒 Intake Manifold Installation
  1. Install seals on the cylinder block.
  2. Install the gasket onto the cylinder head.

    3. Object Number: 64532 Size: SH
  3. Install the lower intake manifold onto the engine block.
  4. Coat the lower intake manifold bolts with threadlocking sealant GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent.

    5. Object Number: 67780 Size: SH
  5. Install the lower intake manifold bolts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts in sequence to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the upper intake manifold gaskets.
  7. Install the upper intake manifold.
  8. Cover a minimum of 8 threads of the upper manifold bolts with threadlocking sealant GM P/N 12345493.

    9. Object Number: 67778 Size: SH
  9. Install the upper intake manifold bolts.

    10. Tighten

    1. In the first pass, tighten all bolts in sequence to 8 N·m (70 lb in).
    2. In the second pass, tighten all bolts in sequence to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).
