Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable assembly from the battery negative terminal. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  3. Lower the transmission, if required for clearance. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
  4. Remove the transmission oil pan and the transmission oil filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid/Filter Changing .
  5. Remove the control valve body assembly. Refer to Control Valve Body Assembly Disassemble .

Disassembly Procedure

Disassemble the control valve assembly/accumulator housing assembly. Refer to Control Valve Body Assembly Disassemble .

Cleaning and Inspection

Clean and inspect all the parts. Refer to Control Valve Body Cleaning and Inspection .
