Removal Procedure
- Remove the ashtray. Refer to Ashtray Replacement .
- Slide the cupholder out.
- Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
- Remove the cupholder retainer from underneath the instrument panel by twisting the retainer to the left.
- Remove the cupholder.
Installation Procedure
- Slide the cupholder onto the metal track in the instrument panel.
- Install the cupholder retainer from underneath the instrument panel by twisting the retainer to the right.
- Slide the cupholder into the instrument panel.
- Install the two rear screws to the cupholder
- Install the ashtray. Refer to Ashtray Replacement .
- Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in),
while holding the cupholder face plate against the cluster bezel opening to
assure proper alignment.
