Slide Hammer with Bearing Adaptor
•
J 36511
Oil Plug Hex Bit
•
J 36800
Shift Rail Bushing Remover
Important:
Only remove the shift rail bearings if faulty.
Use the
J 23907
(1) and
J 36800
(2) in order to remove the front shift rail bearing from the clutch housing.
Use the
J 36511
in order to remove the oil fill plug.
Remove the vent if necessary. The vent is pressed into the case and can be removed with a pair of pliers.
Inspect the input shaft bearing. Refer to
Bearings and Spacers Cleaning and Inspection
.
Remove the input shaft bearing if faulty.
Inspect the front countershaft bearing race. Refer to
Bearings and Spacers Cleaning and Inspection
.
Remove the front countershaft race if faulty.
•
Use a punch to bend in one side of the race.
•
Work the race out of the case.
