Condition

Some customers may comment on a clunk noise when stopping. This noise may occur on a 3-2 downshift at approximately 24 km/h (15 mph) and may be more noticeable on quicker stops.

Cause

This condition may be caused by lash in the driveline.

Correction

A revised calibration has been released that will eliminate the 3-2 downshift and create a 3-1 downshift instead. Reprogram the PCM using the new service calibration, which was available from Techline starting June 2, 2003 on the TIS2000 version 6.0 or later. This calibration is an electronic calibration and is not available from GMSPO.
