Tools Required

    • J 21474-4 Nut
    • J 41211 Front Control Arm Bushing Set
    • J 41397 Lower Control Arm Bushings Remover/Installer
    • J 23444-A High Pressure Lubricant

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the lower control arm. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 534367  Size: SH
  3. Secure the lower control arm in a vice.
  4. Important: Apply J 23444-A or equivalent to the threads of the J 21474-19 .

  5. Assemble the following bushing removal tools as shown:
  6. • J 21474-19
    • The remover/installer from the J 41397
    • The receiver from the J 41397
    • J 21474-18
  7. Tighten the J 21474-18 until the front bushing is removed from the control arm.
  8. Disassemble the bushing removal tools.

  9. Object Number: 534378  Size: SH
  10. Assemble the following bushing removal tools as shown:
  11. • J 21474-27
    • The remover/installer from the J 41211
    • The receiver from the J 41211
    • J 21474-4
  12. Tighten the J 21474-27 until the rear bushing is removed from the control arm.
  13. Disassemble the bushing removal tools.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 534383  Size: SH
  1. Insert the rear bushing into the control arm.
  2. Important: ApplyJ 23444-A or equivalent to the threads of the J 21474-27 .

  3. Assemble the following bushing installation tools as shown:
  4. • J 21474-27
    • The receiver/installer from the J 41211
    • The receiver from the J 41211
    • J 21474-4
  5. Tighten the J 21474-4 until the rear bushing is fully seated in the control arm.
  6. Disassemble the bushing installation tools.

  7. Object Number: 534373  Size: SH
  8. Lubricate the outer casing of the front bushing.
  9. Insert the front bushing into the control arm.
  10. Assemble the following bushing installation tools as shown:
  11. • J 21474-19
    • The remover/installer from the J 41397
    • The receiver from the J 41397
    • J 21474-18
  12. Tighten the J 21474-19 until the front bushing is fully seated in the control arm.
  13. Disassemble the bushing installation tools.
  14. Install the lower control arm. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
