Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the brake caliper bracket and brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  3. Disconnect the wheel drive shaft from the steering knuckle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement in Wheel Drive Shafts.

  4. Object Number: 174602  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts (6) and nuts (2) attaching the steering knuckle (3) to the strut (1).
  6. Remove the steering knuckle from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 174602  Size: SH
  1. Install the steering knuckle (3) into the strut flange and install the steering knuckle bolts (6) and nuts (2).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts (2) to 180 N·m (133 lb ft).

  3. Connect the wheel drive shaft to the steering knuckle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement in Wheel Drive Shafts.
  4. Install the brake caliper bracket and brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  5. Check the front wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement in Wheel Alignment.
