Water Leak on the Front of Floor - kw carpet ditch molding pillar roof wet

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Complaint of water leak on the front floor area, or that the coin cup on the left side of the I/P (which also contains the rear decklid release button) is full of water. The drivers side roof ditch molding is not adequately sealed, resulting in the water traveling down the A pillar and onto the floor, or into the coin cup. Water travels through a small hole in the ditch.

It may be possible to lift the ditch molding back approximately 24 inches back, clean the sealant from the area, and apply a very generous amount of new sealant. This could also possible damage the molding. If this is the case, the molding will have to be replaced. Clean the entire ditch and apply a generous amont of sealer to make it water tight. Note: If ditch moldings are needed, then parts are available in GMSPO, and parts are paint to match.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
