Subject:Cannot Locate Certain Relays In The Underhood Buss Electrical Center

Models:2005-2006 Chevrolet Cobalt 2005-2006 Pontiac Pursuit (Canada)


The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Technicians cannot locate, for testing purposes the following relays in the UBEC.

  1. Trunk release relay
  2. Horn relay
  3. Low beam relay
  4. High beam relay
  5. Fog light relay
  6. Park lamp relay

Recommendation/Instructions:

The above mentioned relays are built inside of the underhood bussed electrical center and are not replace-able or serviced separately. If and issue exists causing the replacement of any of these relays then the UBEC must be replaced as a unit.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
