Condition
Some customers may comment on a spring protruding from behind the driver and/or passenger seat frame.
Cause
The springs are part of the outboard seat recliner mechanisms and may vary in lengths because different sources were used in production. The varying spring dimensions will not effect performance of the recliner mechanisms and should not be modified.
Correction
Install spring covers over the ends of the springs behind the driver and passenger seat frame assemblies.
Above is exploded view of the passengers rear seat frame bar and the spring with the cover installed on the end of the spring.
