The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Customers might comment that the brake lights are inoperative when the key is in the off position. The customer might also state that the only brake light that does work with key off is the center high mounted stop light (CHMSL).
Recommendation/Instructions:
This condition is normal due the power moding of the BCM.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
