The fallowing data definitions pertain to OnStar® scan tool data.
8-Digit GM Part Number: This displays the part number for the vehicle communication interface mode (VCIM).
Component Serial Number 13-16: This is the third partition of the serial number.
Date: This is the date as synchronized with global positioning system (GPS) satellites.
Electronic Serial Number: This is the electronic serial number stored in the VCIM which is used by the OnStar® Call Center.
GPS Signal: This displays the status of a received GPS signal.
Julian Date of Build: This displays the day of the year the module was built.
Module ID: This displays the version of OnStar® which the vehicle is equipped with.
Signal Strength: This displays a calculated value for cellular reception signal strength. A higher number indicates a stronger signal.
Signal Type: This displays whether the OnStar® VCIM is currently operating in a digital or analog market.
Software ID: This displays the 3-digit number of the software version used on the OnStar® VCIM.
Time: This displays the time as synchronized with GPS Satellites.
Transceiver ID: This displays the ID number of the cellular tower that the OnStar® VCIM is using for cellular signal.
VCI Module Station ID: This is the station identification number stored in the VCIM which is used by the OnStar® Call Center.
Year Module Build: This displays the year the module was built.
Entertainment
The fallowing data definitions pertain to radio scan tool data.
8-Digit GM Part Number: The scan tool displays a 8-digit alphanumeric number. This represents the production part number of the module.
Antenna Module: The scan tool displays Enabled/Disabled. The scan tool displays Enabled indicating the output status of the interface between the radio and radio antenna module.
Audio Compression Status: The scan tool displays On/Off. The scan tool displays On when audio compression is turned on via the DVD Menu screen.
Auto Volume Control: The scan tool displays On/Off. The scan tool displays the auto volume control button status. When the auto volume control button is pressed the scan tool will display ON.
Band Button: The scan tool displays Press/Release based on the button press.
Band Status: The scan tool displays AM/FM1/FM2. This represents the current band setting selected on the radio.
Battery Voltage Signal: The scan tool displays 0-25.5 volts. The displayed value is calculated from a circuit connected to source voltage.
Calibration ID: The scan tool displays a numeric value that represents the release version of the software set contained in the radio.
Cassette Deck H/W Level: The scan tool displays a numeric value that represents the hardware level the cassette deck contains.
Cassette Inserted: The scan tool displays Yes/No. The scan tool displays Yes when a cassette is inserted.
Cassette Deck S/W Level: The scan tool displays a numeric value that represents the software level the cassette deck contains.
Cassette Tape Side: The scan tool displays Bottom/Top. This indicates what side the tape is playing on.
CD Changer H/W Level: The scan tool displays a numeric value that represents the hardware level the internal CD Changer contains.
CD Changer S/W Level: The scan tool displays a numeric value that represents the software level the internal CD Changer contains.
CD Inserted: The scan tool displays Yes/No. The scan tool displays Yes when a CD is inserted.
CD Selected - ICDX: The scan tool displays the current disc playing in the 6 disc internal CD changer.
Component Serial No. 13-16: The scan tool displays a numeric value that represents the modules serial number.
Digital Radio Antenna: The scan tool displays millivolts. This parameter indicates the amount of current being used by the digital radio antenna by measuring the voltage drop across an internal resistor. Typical value is 1200-1800 mV.
DRR: The scan tool displays Present/Not Present. The scan tool displays Present when the Digital Radio Receiver (DRR) is connected to the radio.
Julian Date of Build: The scan tool displays 0-999. This represents the day of year the module was manufactured.
Left Volume Down Button: The scan tool displays Press/Release based on the button press.
Left Volume Up Button: The scan tool displays Press/Release based on the button press.
Personalization Status: The scan tool displays Driver 1/Driver 2. This represents the memory position the driver has selected.
Phone Signal: The scan tool displays Present/Not Present. The scan tool displays Present when a phone is connected.
Play/Pause Button: The scan tool displays Press/Release based on the button press.
Power Button: The scan tool displays Press/Release based on the button press.
Preset Button: The scan tool displays Press/Release based on the button press.
Preset Status: The scan tool displays a preset number 1-6. The scan tool displays the preset number selected on the radio.
PROM ID: The scan tool displays 0-9999. This represents the identification number of the radios internal PROM.
Metal Tape Cassette: The scan tool displays Metal/Not Metal. The scan tool displays Metal when a metal type cassette is inserted.
Radio Signal Strength: The scan tool displays 0-300. The signal from the antenna is measured in dBuV.
Right Volume Down Button: The scan tool displays Press/Release based on the button press.
Right Volume Up Button: The scan tool displays Press/Release based on the button press.
Seek Down Button: The scan tool displays Press/Release based on the button press.
Seek Up Button: The scan tool displays Press/Release based on the button press.
Source Button: The scan tool displays Press/Release based on the button press.
Source Status: The scan tool displays the current source of audio selected by the user.
Stop/Eject Button : The scan tool displays the current source of audio selected by the user.
Theft Armed: The scan tool displays Learned VIN/No VIN. The scan tool displays Learned VIN indicating the radio received a valid VIN.
Theft Lock : The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. The scan tool displays Active if theft lock considerations have been started.
Theft Lock Status: The scan tool displays Active/Inactive. The scan tool displays Inactive, indicating the radio received the correct VIN and the Theft Lock Mode is not enabled.
Total Cassette Hours: The scan tool displays 0-999 hrs. This represents the total number of hours used on the cassette player.
Total CD Hours: The scan tool displays 0-999 hrs. This represents the total number of hours used on the CD player.
Total Radio Hours: The scan tool displays 0-999 hrs. This represents the total number of hours used on the radio.
Tuner Region: The scan tool displays the region the radio is currently programmed for.
VIN Learned : The scan tool displays Yes/No. The scan tool displays Yes when the VIN has been learned by the DVD player.
Volume Control: The scan displays 0-255 counts. The scan tool displays the level of volume in counts.
