Removal Procedure

  1. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture.
  2. Remove the engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement.
  3. Raise the engine enough to allow clearance for the oil pan removal.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  5. Place a drain pan under the oil pan drain plug.

  6. Object Number: 758466  Size: SH
  7. Remove the oil pan drain plug.
  8. Drain the engine oil.
  9. Remove the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
  10. Remove the lower AC compressor bolt and loosen the upper bolts.

  11. Object Number: 1578309  Size: SH
  12. Remove the 4 oil pan to transaxle bolts (1).
  13. Remove the oil pan bolts.

  14. Object Number: 1578310  Size: SH
  15. Remove the oil pan
  16. Remove any old oil pan sealant (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1578310  Size: SH
  1. Ensure that the oil pan and the sealing surface (1) on the lower crankcase are free of all oil and debris.

  2. Object Number: 854301  Size: SH
  3. Apply a 3.5 mm bead of sealant around the perimeter of the oil pan and the oil suction port opening. DO NOT over apply the sealant. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the correct part number.
  4. Install the oil pan.

  5. Object Number: 1578309  Size: SH
  6. Install the oil pan bolts.
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Install the 4 oil pan to transaxle bolts (1).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).


    Object Number: 466580  Size: SH
  10. Tighten the oil pan bolts in the sequence shown.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  12. Install the lower AC compressor bolt and tighten the upper bolts.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  14. Install the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
  15. Lower the engine and install the engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement.
  16. Remove the engine support fixture.
  17. Lower the vehicle.
  18. Fill the engine with oil to the proper level.
