Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.

  2. Object Number: 872539  Size: SH
  3. Remove the condenser tube and evaporator hose from the thermal expansion valve (TXV).
  4. Remove and discard the seal washer.

  5. Object Number: 872548  Size: SH
  6. Remove the air conditioning evaporator thermal expansion valve screen.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 872548  Size: SH
  1. Install the air conditioning evaporator thermal expansion valve screen.

  2. Object Number: 872539  Size: SH
  3. Install new sealing washers on the condenser tube and evaporator hose fittings. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement.
  4. Install the condenser tube and evaporator hose to the TXV.
  5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  6. Install the TXV nut.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  8. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  9. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A .

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 2125548  Size: SH
  4. Remove front condenser tube to rear condenser tube nut (1).
  5. Separate tubes and discard the seal washer.

  6. Object Number: 2125550  Size: SH
  7. Remove the TXV valve screen (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2125550  Size: SH
  1. Install the TXV valve screen (1).
  2. Install new sealing washers on the condenser tube. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2125548  Size: SH
  4. Install front condenser tube to rear condenser tube nut (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 20 N·m (15 lb in).

  6. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
  7. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  8. Leak test the fittings using the J 3900-A Halogen Leak Detector .
