The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Comments about the SIR lamp flashing with no DTC's have been reported. This concern may happen after the SDM has been replaced or the BCM has recently been programmed.
Important: Replacing the SDM and or BCM will not correct this concern.
Recommendation/Instructions:
On the latest version of Tech-2 software 27.012 you will have to build the vehicle as follows and set up the SDM:
Enter / Diagnostics / (7) 2006/7/8 / Passenger Car / Vehicle Control Systems / Supplemental Inflatable Restraint / F5: Module Setup / F0: Setup New SDM
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
