Some customers may comment on a grinding noise in third or fourth gear when the clutch is fully disengaged.
GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause of the above condition. GM Engineering has a need to obtain information first hand during diagnosis and BEFORE repair. As a result, this information will be used by engineering to "root cause" the customer's concern and develop/validate a field fix.
Contact GM Engineer Brian Teegardin at 248-343-8218 or Getrag Engineer Mark Raymo at 586-826-6702 before attempting to repair the vehicle. GM Engineering may visit dealerships that are near Detroit, Michigan. In either case you will receive a response back within one hour on what action to take.
For vehicles located near the Metro Detroit area, engineering may request to visit the dealership to inspect the vehicles.
If you do not receive a response from engineering within one hour, proceed to repair the vehicle according to SI.
