The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
For 2008 model year 4T45E transmissions only, engineering is interested in having manual valve links (between Julian date 7152 and 7365) removed from selected transmissions which are being replaced as assemblies.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The core may be returned without the manual valve link. Only several links are needed from each month of production from June 2007 (Julian date 7152) through December 2007 (Julian date 7365). If you are replacing a 4T45E transmission within Julian dates
7152 and 7365, please contact Bob Martin at 586-575-1640 with the Julian date on the transmission ID tag. The Julian date is located in the top right corner of the OEM ID tag. See SI document # 1447969 callouts #2 and #3.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
