This PI was superseded to remove the parts restriction from part numbers 12598713 and 12618667 - Turbocharger Assembly and part number 12609268 - Catalytic Converter. Please discard PIP3914B.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
We want to ensure that the following components meet our quality expectations. As a result, the following components are currently on restriction through the PQC:
12614735 - Fuel Rail Assembly
12589444, 12614736 - SIDI Fuel Injector
12607242 - Fuel Injector Seal Kit
12589445, 12614848 - Fuel Rail (Bare)
12589446 - Wiring Harness
12589447, 12613350 - Fuel Pressure Sensor
Recommendation/Instructions:
If your diagnosis isolates a concern with any of the components above, please contact PQC at 866-654-7654 before removing any of these components. PQC will create a case, document your diagnosis, and release the part to you as necessary. In some cases, it may be necessary for PQC to review your request with engineering before releasing the part to you.
Effective Monday, September 15, 2008, the PQC restriction on part numbers 12598713 and 12618667 - Turbocharger Assembly and part number 12609268 - Catalytic Converter has been removed.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
