This bulletin is being revised to update the warranty information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 04-07-30-039 (Section 07 -- Transmission/Transaxle).


Condition

Some customers may comment about the SES light being on, poor performance and/or poor acceleration.

Cause

This condition may be caused by a mechanical condition in the transmission and/or the transmission calibrations. Diagnosis may show a DTC P0756 set.

Correction

Follow the procedure below for diagnosis and repair of this condition:

  1. With a scan tool, inspect for DTC P0756.
  2. • If a DTC P0756 is NOT set, continue with the appropriate diagnosis in SI.
    • If a DTC P0756 IS set, refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 01-07-30-036C or newer.
    • For additional diagnostic information of DTC P0756, refer to DTC P0756 in SI.
  3. Reprogram the PCM with TIS update version 9.0, available September 5, 2004 or newer. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) in SI.
