This bulletin is being revised to correct the labor operation number. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 05-08-52-001A (Section 08 -- Body and Accessories).
Some customers may comment that one or both key fobs no longer work. After confirming the customer concern, the technician may find that a simple re-learn will correct the condition. If this is true, follow the correction below.
Important: All customer owned transmitters must be present.
• | If reprogramming the transmitter (fob) CORRECTS the customer concern, inspect the cowl area and the BCM for evidence of a water leak. |
- | If there IS evidence of a water leak into the BCM, REPLACE the BCM and REPAIR the source of the leak following published procedures. |
- | If there is NO evidence of a water leak AND the vehicle HAS prior service history for the transmitter (fob) inop, REPLACE the BCM following published procedures. |
- | If there is NO evidence of a water leak AND the vehicle has NO previous service history for this condition, DO NOT replace the BCM. |
• | If programming the transmitter (fob) DOES NOT CORRECT the customer concern, follow published Service Information to diagnose and correct the concern. Refer to SI Document ID# 1394639. |
