Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Do only the power windows and wipers exhibit this symptom?

Go to Step 5

  1. Observe the following parameters in body control module (BCM) data list:
  2. • Driver Door Ajar Sw.
    • Passenger Door Ajar Sw.
  3. Open and close each door while observing the respective parameter.

Does the scan tool display change from Ajar to Door Closed respectively?

  1. Select diagnostic circuit check and then class 2 power mode on the scan tool.
  2. Close all the doors.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. Wait 5 seconds then turn the ignition OFF.
  5. Wait the time-out for retained accessory power (RAP).

Did the scan tool display the RAP power mode, then time-out and display Off-Awake power mode?

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the RAP relay.

Do the power windows and wipers operate?

Go to Step 6

Repair the short to battery in the power windows and wipers supply voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the RAP relay. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 8

Replace the RAP relay.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Did you complete the procedure?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
