Front Fender Flare Replacement Canyon

Tools Required

J 25070 Heat Gun

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1373064  Size: SH
  1. Remove the 6 push-pins (2) that secure the wheel opening molding to the fender.
  2.         Important: Be careful not to scratch or chip the paint.

    1.1. Heat the wheel opening molding using a J 25070 . Hold the heat gun approximately 152 mm (6 in) from surface.

    Apply heat using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.

    1.2. Peel the wheel opening molding from the panel surface using a flat-bladed tool.
  3. Remove all adhesive from the fender and the back of the molding using a 3M™ Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk 3M™ P/N 07501 or equivalent.

Installation Procedure

  1. Ensure the painted fender surface in the tape contact areas are clean and dry.
  2. Position the front wheel opening molding to the front fender.
  3. Install the locating push-pin (2) into the molding.
  4. Install the remaining 5 push-pins in order to secure the molding to the fender.
  5. Warm the body panel and molding using a heat lamp or a heat gun, if necessary to a temperature between 18.8-43.3°C (66-100°F).
  6. Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing.

  7. Remove the tape liner (1) from the adhesive tape.
  8. Press the molding to the fender.
  9. Hand roll the molding to the fender in order to ensure proper adhesion.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1503789  Size: SH

    Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing an emblem/name plate.

  1. Apply masking tape to protect the painted surfaces.
  2. Remove the screws (2) from the wheel opening molding to the fender.
  3. 2.1. Use a flat-bladed plastic tool to aid in the removal.

            Important: Be careful not to scratch or chip the paint.

    2.2. Heat the wheel opening molding using a J 25070 . Hold the heat gun approximately 152 mm (6 in) from the surface.

    Apply heat using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.

    2.3. Peel the wheel opening molding from the panel surface using a flat-bladed plastic tool.
  4. Remove the wheel opening molding from the vehicle.
  5. Remove all adhesive from the fender and the back of the molding using a 3M™ Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk 3M™ P/N 07501 or equivalent.

Installation Procedure

  1. Ensure the painted fender surface in the tape contact areas are clean and dry.
  2. Position the front wheel opening molding to the front fender.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the screws (2) to the spacer block (1) that secures the wheel opening molding to the fender.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Warm the body panel and molding using a heat lamp or a heat gun, if necessary to a temperature between 18.8-43.3°C (66-100°F).
  7. Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing.

  8. Remove the tape liner (3) from the adhesive tape.
  9. Press the molding to the fender.
  10. Hand roll the molding to the fender in order to ensure proper adhesion.
