Evaporator Tube Replacement LLV, LLR

Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

  2. Object Number: 1738605  Size: SH
  3. Remove the evaporator tube nut (1) from the TXV stud.
  4. Remove the evaporator tube (2) from the TXV.

  5. Object Number: 1738609  Size: SH
  6. Remove the evaporator tube from the retaining clips (1) on the fender.

  7. Object Number: 1738611  Size: SH
  8. Remove the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement .
  9. Remove the evaporator tube retaining clip from the condenser.
  10. Remove the evaporator tube attaching bolt (1) at the receiver dehydrator.
  11. Remove the evaporator tube.
  12. Remove the O-ring seal and discard.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new O-ring seal. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  2. Install the evaporator tube.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the bolt (1) to the receiver dehydrator.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  6. Install the evaporator tube retaining clip to the front of the condenser.
  7. Install the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement .

  9. Install the evaporator tube to the retaining clips (1) on the fender.

  10. Object Number: 1738605  Size: SH
  11. Install the evaporator tube (2) to the TXV.
  12. Install the evaporator tube nut (1) to the TXV stud.
  13. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  14. Leak test the fittings of the components using the J 39400 .
