Models: | 2009 Chevrolet Colorado equipped with P265/70/R17 RPO - QJP |
2009 GMC Canyon equipped with P265/70/R17 RPO - QJP |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some customers may comment that the front tires rub or have light contact against the stabilizer bar when the steering wheel is turned full left or full right for vehicles equipped with P265/70/R17 RPO - QJP. Contact does not occur in all cases and if it does occur, it is minimal against the outer tread surface on the inboard side of the tire. No damage to the tire sidewall or tread occurs. Eventually with normal tread wear the contact disappears. This is due to the large tire option available for this vehicle.
The concern can be minimized by centering the steering rack and adjusting the tie rod ends equally side to side, however this should be considered a normal characteristic of this vehicle when equipped with P265/70/R17 RPO - QJP.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
