Diagnosing ABS C0035 C0040 C0220 C0221 - kw brake code DTC diagnostics MIL GMT355 WSS

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Additional diagnostics for ABS codes: C0035, C0040, C0221, and C0220.

1. C0035 can set if circuit 872 or 873 is shorted to ground. When code is current, there will be no wheel speed signal from either side. To diagnose a current or history C0035 disconnect one wheel speed sensor. Snapshot the opposite sensor and plot on the Tech 2. Replace whichever sensor has a sharp drop on the graph.
2. To diagnose C0040, C0220 and C0221, snapshot wheel speed sensors and plot. Replace whichever sensor has a sharp drop on the graph.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
