The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The interior lights may be inoperative at times. This could be the result of the ignition switch being placed to the "OFF" position prior to the vehicle coming to a complete stop. This concern may be noticed more on a manual transmission vehicle. If the key is cycled to the "OFF" position within 2 seconds of stopping the vehicle, the dome lights will not turn on when the door is opened. If the key is turned to the "OFF" position 3 seconds after the vehicle has come to a complete stop, the dome lights will turn on when the door is opened.
Recommendation/Instructions:
This is a normal operating characteristic and no repairs should be attempted.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
