This Pi Was Superceded to Update Condition/Concern, Please Discard PIT3342.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

  1. Cruise and/or the center high mount stop lamp is inoperative.
  2. Sun visor vanity light may be inoperative.

Both the concerns above may be the result of a shorted wire that will open one of three fuses. Fuse #1 - 20A STOP, Fuse #34 10A TBC and/or Fuse #37 - 15A TURN/HZ FR.

Recommendation/Instructions:

For either concern, inspect the sun visor mount to the roof panel. The retaining screw(s) that retains the sun visor to the roof panel may chafe the harness during assembly. This could affect any vehicle built prior to December 15, 2004. Repair the wire(s), replace the fuse and reroute the harness to prevent future concerns.

Note:: Fuse #1 - 20A STOP, Fuse #34 10A TBC and/or Fuse #37 - 15A TURN/HZ FR. These fuses are located in the UBEC.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
