This PI was superseded change admin details, remove serial number inspection and update model year. Please discard PIP3558N.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Customers may comment of an unrequested transfer case mode shift. The concern is likely intermittent and may be extremely difficult to duplicate.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Replace the transfer case select switch with the latest part number available from GMSPO. Prior to installation of the new switch record the serial number of the new switch on the repair order (this number may be requested by engineering at a future date).
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
