RATTLE BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX LOOSE WIRING HARNESS

MODEL AND YEAR: 1987 BERETTA, CORSICA

Some 1987 Beretta or Corsica models may experience a rattling noise behind the glove box. This condition could be due to a loose wiring harness hitting the glove box.

To repair this condition, remove the glove box and install one clip, P/N 20556873, around the ECM harness and another clip (same part number) around the instrument panel harness on either side of the 15 pin connector. Push these two clips into the upper (black) dash mat surface to hold the harness away from the glove box.

Use applicable labor operations and time.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
