SUBJECT: CORRECT OIL FILTER (INFORMATION ON SIZE OF FILTER IN OWNERS MANUAL, PARTS BOOK)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1987-91 CHEVROLET L-CAR W/2/8L OR 3.1L

This bulletin advises dealers and customers of the correct replacement oil filter for the specified vehicles. Disregard information contained in the 1987-91 Corsica/Beretta Owners Manuals and Parts Catalogues showing the AC-TYPE PF-51 as the replacement oil filter. The proper replacement oil filter for the specified vehicles is an AC TYPE PF-40. The AC TYPE PF-51 extends below the suspension and may be damaged by stones, rocks, or road hazards. The AC TYPE PF-40 is shorter and does not extend below the suspension.
